Ben Olivarez is the fourth generation of the Olivarez family to run the ranch.Ben began learning about cattle ranching
from his dad when he was 5 years old. While growing up Ben worked on the ranch, branding cattle, making hay bales, fixing fences, and performing other ranch duties. After graduating
college and serving in the military, Ben returned home in 1970 to run the ranch. |
Ben has a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Economics from Texas A&M University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration
from Sam Houston State University.He is a former member of the board of directors of Santa Gertrudis Breeders
International and is active in the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas SGBI affiliate associations.Ben is a member of the South Texas
